Wednesday potpourri

I have no time right now to finish one of the many draft posts I have on various topics … too busy!! … so instead, here’s a random smattering of stuff on the internets that I don’t have time to read but looks interesting.
- RealClimate chronicles what seems to be an annual tradition from climate change denialists — pointing out how cold it is … during winter! The other nugget in there is a global warming article from Pravda that could quite possibly be the worst science article in mass media I’ve ever seen [also see Deltoid’s post on this]. UPDATE: As usual, tamino explains what all the hub-bub is about clearly and concisely.
- Interesting article in the NY Times about the rise of interactive/collaborative styles of learning over traditional lecture styles.
- A very funny Top 10 list from David Letterman.
- I watched this NOVA show last week about Mandelbrot and fractals — it was entertaining and educational … one of my favorite combos!
- Did you know that there is a campaign to pick 7 new wonders of the world? Apparently, there’s a list over greater than 250 to choose from.
- One guy’s list of the 10 best sci-fi films.
