Some photos from Peyto Lake, Canadian Rockies
October 5, 2008
Ever since I saw Hindered Settling’s fantastic post about the delta at Peyto Lake (Alberta, Canada) I wanted to go visit it. A trip up to Alberta and B.C. back in August got me close but, unfortunately, we did not have time to hike down and get closer to the delta. So I only have these photos from the viewing area. Enjoy!
Hindered Settling followed up the original post with more (here and here) … if this lacustrine delta intrigues you as much as it does me, I encourage you to go read those posts.

Oh my, this makes me want to move to North America so much.
Those are great photos, even if you only got to the overlook – it must be a fantastic place to get to! And thanks for pointing out Hindered Settling’s earlier post on this lake and its delta.
I’ve been there – rather more years ago than I care to remember, now. Unfortunately, it was only one of those annoyingly brief “view-stops” where almost before you’ve had a chance to work out what you’re seeing you’re being herded back into the car. Because obviously, once you’ve got the photo, why linger?
