August 2008 Accretionary Wedge geoscience carnival: Call for posts
Callan over at NOVA Geoblog is hosting the August 2008 edition of the geoscience blog carnival, The Accretionary Wedge.
Below is a clipped version of Callan’s call for posts … to read all the details, various ideas on what to write about, and how to submit, go here:
I hereby solicit the geoblogosphere’s thoughts on how geology serves as a ‘connector’ science. I’m interested in a bunch of posts connected by the theme of connection.
…the turnaround time will be pretty quick. Let’s have them all by midnight Sunday, August 24. Once they’re in, I’ll package them up and post them on Monday the 25th.
By the way, The Accretionary Wedge is almost a year old! Thanks to everybody who has hosted and submitted over the last year. All the installments are archived here (with links to the host’s blogs).
This page is for organizing future carnivals. Following Callan’s ‘connection’ theme, we have geology in space in September (at goodSchist), and then geologically-inspired food creations in October (at Geological Musings in the Taconic Mountains).
Start thinking of ideas for December and future carnivals and let us know in the comment thread.
