SCIENCE DISCLAIMER: I write about and discuss many scientific studies and/or concepts at length on Clastic Detritus. If you are a student and/or researcher please refer to the original papers/studies I discuss. Do not cite this blog for formal research! I’m just a guy with a blog … go to the library and read the actual peer-reviewed papers. If a post doesn’t mention a particular paper, please e-mail me or post a comment and I will provide the right information.
Although I am a practicing scientist, those activities are done primarily in the peer-reviewed literature. Blogging about science is not the same as doing science.
I do not directly debate the irrational zealots of the science punditry and other crackpots about their pet hypotheses.. Most of them refuse to actually do any of their own analysis and are simply trying to push buttons and hijack discussion threads (i.e., they are trolls). Directly engaging them is a gigantic waste of time. However, from time-to-time I will post about crackpot ideas and why they are flawed as a way to frame or teach a concept.
