As an independent in California, you're actually allowed to request a ballot for any party that has decided to let you - which means the Democrats and the American Independents. I haven't been a registered Democrat in years and I still manage to throw my useless protest vote to Kucinich this way ;)

You will miss out on the exciting fun of selecting internal party bureaucrats, but hopefully the exciting fun of deciding whether or not to ratify Indian gaming compacts will make up for it.

Yes...Lab Lemming...you may be the first to berate me.

I will say this, however...where did I get the idea to blog about this? I learned it by watching you!

As for using the constraints of reality...that is indeed a tough way to win an election.

Can I be the first hypocrite to berate you for not sticking solely to arcane science topics on your own personal blog? I feel betrayed and disappoint, especially as a person who has recently addressed politics and crickets on my own science blog.

So please in future limit your posts to siliciclastic transport- I don't wanna hear this off-topic rambling about civic duties, metamorphism, or clays!

And I'm sure you care what I think your blog should be about. ;)

Seriously, though. It seems to me that both Edwards and Huckabee are channeling the spirit of William Jennings Bryan.

As for Ron Paul, I'd love to see him pip Huckabee in NH. But in terms of being taken seriously, he has yet to demonstrate that he can use the constraints of reality to refine his positions.
